Privacy Policy

Effective 16 September 2026 · Covers Chaeuni and Catnap

The short version. My apps have no accounts and ask for no personal information. Your photos, your text and your focus sessions stay on your iPhone — I never receive them. What I do collect is anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data used to fix bugs. Two things do leave the device, both in Catnap and both optional: the name you give the cat, so it can be spoken aloud, and a random token that proves a purchase.

1. Who I am

I'm Phương, an independent developer in Vietnam. I publish these apps by myself; there is no company and no team behind them. For anything in this policy, write to chaeuniapp@gmail.com.

2. Which apps this covers

Any app I publish later is added to this page. Where the apps differ, the difference is spelled out below rather than hidden in a generality.

3. No account, no sign-up

There is no registration, no login, no profile, no email address and no way to contact other users. I do not ask for your name (Catnap asks what to call you, which is a different thing — see section 8), your phone number, your address book, your precise location or your date of birth.

5. What stays on your device

All of this is written to the app's own storage on your iPhone. It is never uploaded to me or to anyone else, and deleting the app removes it permanently.

6. Photos (Chaeuni)

Choosing a photo uses Apple's system photo picker, which hands the app only the one image you selected — the app never gains access to your library. When you save a finished design, iOS asks for permission to add the image to your library. I do not read, scan or upload your photos.

7. The camera (Catnap)

During a camera-assisted focus session the front camera is used to work out one thing: whether you are still at the desk and facing your work. That analysis happens entirely on your iPhone, using Apple's Vision framework.

8. Screen Time (Catnap)

Blocking distracting apps during a session uses Apple's Family Controls framework. The apps you pick are represented by opaque tokens that Apple keeps meaningless outside your device — I cannot see which apps you chose, and the selection never leaves the phone.

9. The name the cat says (Catnap)

Catnap can say your name out loud. This is the one piece of text you type that leaves your device, and it is optional: skip the step, or clear the name later, and nothing is sent.

10. Content downloaded from my servers

Fonts, templates, stickers and kaomoji (Chaeuni), the cat's voice clips (Catnap), and the settings that decide which subscription plans to show (both apps, through Firebase Remote Config) are fetched from my content servers — Supabase and Cloudflare R2. These requests are anonymous and read-only; the app sends no identifier and no content of yours with them. Like any web server, they record standard request data such as IP address, user agent and timestamp in short-lived operational logs used for security and troubleshooting.

11. Purchases

Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase. Apple processes the payment; I never see your card, your billing address or your Apple ID.

12. Analytics and crash reports

Both apps use Google Firebase to understand how the app is used and to find crashes:

Events carry counts and durations, never content: no photo, no text you typed, no name, and in Catnap nothing from the camera — the event format has no field that could hold one. This data is not linked to your identity, is used only to keep the apps working and to decide what to build next, and is processed by Google as my service provider under the Google Privacy Policy.

13. What I never do

14. Children

These apps are not directed to children under 13 (under 14 in the Republic of Korea) and I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I will delete it.

15. How long things are kept

16. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR (EU/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), PIPA (Republic of Korea) and Decree 13/2023 on personal data protection (Vietnam) — you have the right to access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

Because I hold almost nothing that identifies you, I usually cannot locate data about a specific person. In practice: deleting the app removes every piece of content and every preference from your device and stops all further analytics collection. For the two things that do sit on my server — a cached recording of a name, and a Catnap purchase record — email me and I will delete what can be identified.

17. International transfers

My service providers (Google, Supabase, Cloudflare, ElevenLabs, Apple) operate globally and may process the data described above on servers outside your country, including in the United States, the European Union and Japan, under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

18. Changes

If this policy changes I will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the app.
